The article seeks to critically examine the role of space as a source in the development of informal practices and symbolic hierarchy in the field of artistic production. The scope of inquiry is Minsk art studios as the scale objective in city design and organization. It reveals a shift from the public space consumption to private studios that are accessible via informal social networks. Minsk art studio spaces become multifunctional in terms of architectural and social planning. The article is based on a qualitative analysis of the interviews with Minsk artists who play an active role in framing art studio and city spaces.
