The Aesthetic vs. The Social or How Beauty Will Save the World

Abstract

 The article provides a critical assessment of the debates concerning
the concepts of beauty in the contemporary culture, examines the
ways of rethinking and reformulating of such established notions as
«the aesthetic», «the social», «beauty», «the sublime». The main
aim of the text is to provide new, contemporary methodology of
interpretation of the phenomenon of beauty with the help of the
conceptions of psychoanalysis and postmarxism.
