The Critique of the Notion Unconscious and Psychoanalytical Method of the Interpretation of Dreams in Dasein-analysis by Medard Boss
Article
Abstract
[In Russian]
This article exposes the critique of the notion «unconscious» and of the psychoanalytical method of the interpretation of dreams, relying on the views of the Swiss Dasein analyst Medard Boss. On basis of the main lines of M. Boss’ critique, the article reveals the concept of the «unconscious» as methodologically indistinct, open to logical criticism and theoretically superfluous. The article characterizes the notion of the «unconcealed» that is introduced by M. Boss as the substitute for the «unconscious». The Dasein-analytical critique of the term «unconscious» is extended in the article to the critique of the psychoanalytical understanding of the dream and its interpretation that is exposed as irrelevant and practically unsafe. The article describes the hermeneutical-phenomenological method of the interpretation of dreams that is used by M. Boss as the substitute for the psychoanalytical one. Meanwhile, the weak points of M. Boss’ critique and conception are discussed.
