Dialectical Concept of Zakhar Faynburg’s Socialism
Article
Abstract
[In Russian]
The point at issue in the article is the academic life of a Soviet Marxist sociologist Zakhar Faynburg, who used Marx’s dialectics to analyze and criticize the type of socialism that was in the USSR in the 1970s–1980s. Faynburg indicated contradictions of the existing model of production with the notions of socialism as well as some features of the bourgeois social structure which were typical for the soviet society. As far as the official Marxist doctrine allowed only «achievements of socialism» but not its contradictions, Faynburg’s works were unfairly ignored by the academic milieu.
