Abstract

[In English]

In December 2021, Vladimir Matskevich's book “Responsing for Yourself. Notes of a Harmful Philosopher ”, created on the basis of a series of publications on social networks in 2019. Since August 2021, Vladimir has been in a Belarusian prison for his intellectual, journalistic activities and for his civic position. But arrest cannot and should not stop thought and the development of ideas. The book was published by Vladimir's colleagues as part of the "Philosopher in Prison" campaign. In 2019, Vladimir Matskevich in the public space looked for answers to questions about the place and role of thinking and philosophy in a situation of key social transformations, determined his own position and acted. This intellectual and civic movement is reflected in the book. It combines self-determination, analysis of the current social situation and performative acts of public speaking, for example, an open letter to A. Lukashenko. We are publishing a short excerpt from a new book, which analyzes the situation of confrontation in the public and information space.
