The Use of Information Warfare Tools in the Struggle for Power (the Case of the Ukrainian Facts in 2014)

The article analyzes the possibility of applying the tools of information warfare to the electoral process of a state. The main tool of warfare is media. With its help, the manipulation of consciousness of the electorate and public opinion becomes as a whole possible. The distorted electoral technologies including media technology are used to achieve this purpose. Regarding the example of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in 2014 in Ukraine, the author shows the technologies of information warfare and indicates a number of things: the imposition of the idea that the past (current) power is not able to govern the state, the formation of a negative attitude towards the opposition, unequal coverage of equivalent events and facts, unjustified generalizations, etc.
