Abstract

[In Russian]

This paper analyses how contemporary society depends on computer practices of safety and standardization. Initially emerged from entrails of software development, the concept of safety has been infiltrated to offline realm affecting it. The definition of a computer as a metaphysical medium (which re-mediates mediation itself) allows to reformulate its nature in more dynamic terms with no regard to static media which are (according to the most popular viewpoint) just remediated in digital systems. Digital (cybernetic) security and standardization simplify the use of devices and programs, likewise promoting an intensive information interchange (in and for itself) affecting the behavior and structure of the reality of the «Silent Majorities».
