University as Philosophy
Article
Abstract
[In Russian]
In the centre of the article there is a statement that the days of the university as an exclusive carrier and keeper of some uncon- ditional true and strict disciplinary frameworks have gone. The sense and mission of today’s university are rather discovery of diverse epistemological and practical possibilities of a constantly changing world than the establishment of unbreakable meta- physical senses and ultimate goals. Four key concepts that open the features of the modern social world let us understand the meaning of existence and development of today’s university, its philosophy: uncertainty, unpredictability, challenge and competi- tiveness. It is in such social environment that modern university should teach practices of actions. It is a question of formation of social literacy for the 21st century. And it is this that does univer- sity a special philosophy even if there is no traditional faculty of philosophy there.
