University Mission: Discussions and Prospects

Abstract

[In Russian]

The article deals with discussions about the mission of univer- sity. It was the central theme in the annual scientific conference of the journalism faculty in the Kazan Federal University. There are two most popular points of view to this problem. According the first, we must keep the academic character of universities, by the second – it’s necessary to consider requirements of the labor market and business.
