In Memory of Elena Trubina

2026-08-05

It is with profound sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of Elena Trubina, philosopher, social theorist, and one of the leading scholars of urban studies and urban culture.

For many years, Elena collaborated with the European Humanities University and served as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Topos. To many of us, Elena was not only an outstanding scholar and a generous colleague, but also a true friend—reliable, thoughtful, and deeply supportive.

We are sincerely grateful for her long-standing support of the journal, her intellectual generosity, and her invaluable contribution to our academic community.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and students.

May her memory endure.

Topos Advances to Q2 in SCImago Journal Rank (SJR)

We are pleased to announce that Topos has improved its position in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), moving from Q3 to Q2.

Advancing to Q2 indicates a higher level of visibility and impact within the international academic community, as well as stronger recognition of the journal’s contributions to research in philosophy, cultural studies, and social theory.

This achievement reflects the sustained efforts of the editorial team and the valuable contributions of our authors and reviewers.

We thank all contributors for their continued support.
